Talk to us
before you travel
Coming to NTTC is a real commitment - of time, travel, and investment. Our free Concerns Call gives you 15 minutes with a member of the clinical team to talk through what is happening, ask your questions, and understand clearly whether an appointment at NTTC is the right next step.
We will give you an honest answer - even if that answer is that we are not the right fit for your situation.
Coming to NTTC is a genuine commitment
We want every family and patient who walks through our door to be in the right place. That means being honest with you upfront - about what we do, what the pathway involves, and whether the commitment is right for your circumstances. The Concerns Call exists for that reason.
A commitment of time
A full treatment pathway involves a minimum of four visits - more for older children, complex cases, or adults. Each visit requires time away from work, family, and other commitments. We want you to know this before you start, not after.
A commitment of travel
Our patients come from all over Ireland and internationally. The Clonmel clinic is not on everyone's doorstep. We offer a Saturday outreach clinic in Naas for Leinster families, and the final follow-up session can also be in Naas - but we want you to understand the travel picture fully.
A financial investment
The NTTC team is highly qualified - a Consultant Paediatrician, Chartered Physiotherapists, IBCLCs, nurse specialists, and feeding therapists. That expertise is reflected in our fees. We are transparent about costs at every stage, and the Concerns Call is one way we make sure you understand the investment before you commit.
What the full journey looks like
Every pathway is different, but this is the structure you can expect. The Concerns Call is how we confirm which pathway applies to you before your first visit.
Whatever your age group - we can help you decide
The Concerns Call is open to parents of infants and children, and to adults considering assessment for themselves. Below are the concerns we most commonly discuss.
Newborn feeding difficulties
Older infant concerns
Older children
Adult concerns
What happens on the call
The Concerns Call is a structured 15-minute online video call - not a vague chat. Here is what you can expect from start to finish.
Tell us what is happening in your own words - symptoms, history, what you have already tried, and what is worrying you most. There is no wrong way to describe it. We listen without rushing you.
A member of the clinical team will ask targeted questions to build a clearer picture - age, feeding or functional history, previous assessments, and any relevant clinical detail. This helps us give you accurate guidance.
We tell you clearly whether an evaluation at NTTC is likely to be helpful, which pathway applies, what to expect from that pathway, and what it costs. If we are not the right fit, we say so - and point you somewhere more useful.

About the Concerns Call
Who will I speak to on the call?
The Concerns Call is conducted by a member of the NTTC clinical team - a Chartered Physiotherapist or IBCLC. You are speaking directly with a clinician who understands the pathways and can give you accurate clinical guidance, not an administrator or booking staff member.
Is it really free and with no obligation?
Yes, completely. There is no charge for the Concerns Call and no expectation that you will book a follow-up appointment. Many people use the call to gather information and then take time to decide. We would rather you make the right decision for your family than feel any pressure to book.
How long does the call take?
The call is scheduled for 15 minutes. This is usually sufficient to cover your main concerns, answer your questions, and give you a clear direction. If your situation is particularly complex, the clinician may suggest that a full evaluation appointment is a better forum for an in-depth discussion.
Can I do the call as an adult seeking assessment for myself?
Yes. The Concerns Call is available for adults who are considering assessment for themselves, not only for parents of children. Adult tongue tie is frequently missed or dismissed, and many adults come to us after years of symptoms that have never been properly investigated. The call is a good way to understand whether a functional assessment is worth pursuing.
What if I've already had a tongue tie release elsewhere?
This is one of the most common reasons people contact us. If a previous release has not resolved symptoms - or if reattachment has occurred - the Concerns Call is a good first step. We can help you understand whether re-evaluation and possible revision is appropriate, and what that process would involve at NTTC.
What happens after the call if I want to proceed?
After the call you will have a clear picture of whether an evaluation is appropriate, which pathway applies, and what it costs. From there, booking is your decision in your own time. You can book online at tonguet.ie/book-appointment or call us on 052 610 8009.
