Our Clinical Approach

Not just the procedure.
The full picture.

Release Restrictions Β· Retrain Function Β· Relieve Tension

The National Tongue Tie Centre was founded on the understanding that a frenuloplasty on its own is the beginning of treatment, not the entirety of it. Our integrated methodology addresses the restriction, the functional patterns that developed around it, and the whole-body tension the restriction has created over time.

This approach brings together the clinical expertise of a Consultant Paediatrician, a Chartered Physiotherapist, and a Midwife β€” all IBCLCs β€” working together in one clinic. We assess thoroughly, prepare you before the procedure, and support you through recovery.

01
Release
COβ‚‚ laser frenuloplasty performed by Dr. Justin Roche, Consultant Paediatrician. Ireland's only clinic offering this procedure under conscious sedation for infants aged 12 weeks to 6 months, where clinically indicated.
02
Retrain
Feeding therapy and myofunctional rehabilitation led by Kate Roche, Chartered Physiotherapist and IBCLC. Pre- and post-procedure feeding support to build the functional foundation for recovery.
03
Relieve
Physiotherapy and bodywork to address the tension patterns associated with restricted tongue function β€” in the jaw, neck, and throughout the fascial system.

Infant Β· Bottle Feeding
What distinguishes the clinic from other clinics is the level of in-house expertise and aftercare, ensuring that parents are fully equipped with follow-up exercises to maximise the success of the tongue tie release. Other practitioners may offer a tongue tie release but cannot offer the post-procedure physiotherapy or feeding therapy a week later. I can fully appreciate why people travel globally to Justin and Kate. It is indeed a long way to Tipperary but it is entirely worthwhile.

From start to finish we were completely put at ease and given clear, helpful advice at every appointment. The staff were so friendly, patient and knowledgeable, which made the whole process feel very reassuring. The aftercare guidance was excellent too, and we felt genuinely supported throughout.

We flew from Malta for our baby's tongue tie release, and I couldn't be happier with the care we received. Dr. Justin and Kate are incredible β€” professional, warm, and truly dedicated. Kate's bodywork sessions were so helpful, and I left with great tips to continue improving tongue mobility at home.

Faultless. A streamlined, supportive and fantastic service from start to finish with a professional and enthusiastic staff that are passionate about what they do. Our session with Kate afterwards was incredible and we used her exercises and tummy time techniques for months afterwards. Shout out to Johanna β€” honestly could not have kept breastfeeding so happily without her wisdom, kindness and patience. Just a really wonderful service and we are really lucky to have them in Ireland.
