Specialist feeding support,
at every stage.
Feeding difficulties in infants and children are rarely straightforward. Our feeding clinics provide specialist assessment across all feeding methods and all ages, from newborns through to teenagers, without requiring a tongue tie diagnosis to access care.
Our feeding clinics are open to all infants and children experiencing feeding difficulties, regardless of feeding method and regardless of whether tongue tie has been identified or suspected. Every appointment begins with a thorough clinical assessment. You will leave with a clear picture of what is happening and an honest recommendation about next steps.
Infant feeding
assessment
For newborns and young infants experiencing difficulties with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or both. This appointment follows the same thorough clinical pathway as our tongue tie evaluation, providing a complete picture of your baby's oral function and feeding biomechanics regardless of whether tongue tie is the cause.
- Feeding history and parental concerns
- Assessment with an IBCLC feeding specialist
- Live feeding observation where possible
- Oral function and tongue mobility assessment
- Medical consultation with Dr Justin Roche
- Written report and clear recommendations
Child feeding
assessment
For older infants, children, and teenagers with difficulties transitioning to solids, fussy or selective eating, chewing and swallowing difficulties, or feeding aversion. This appointment follows the same clinical pathway as our child tongue tie evaluation, covering oral function, feeding behaviour, and the structural factors that may be contributing.
- Full feeding and developmental history
- Assessment with a specialist feeding therapist
- Observation of eating and drinking
- Oral motor and swallowing assessment
- Medical consultation with Dr Justin Roche
- Written report and clear recommendations
Tube feeding and tube weaning. The NTTC welcomes referrals for children who are currently tube fed and families considering tube weaning. We are always happy to evaluate and review tube-fed children, regardless of age or the reason for tube dependency. Tube weaning programmes are led by Kate Roche, Chartered Physiotherapist and IBCLC. Please contact the clinic to discuss your child's situation before booking.

Specialist Feeding Clinic
Comprehensive feeding assessment for infants and children, from birth to 16 years
Book an AppointmentGetting to the root cause of feeding difficulties
NTTC's Feeding Clinic provides specialist assessment for children regardless of how they are fed — breast, bottle, solids, or tube. We offer two dedicated streams: one for infants aged 0–6 months, and one for children aged 6 months to 16 years. Tube weaning support is also available.
What the Clinic Covers
Infant Feeding (0–6 Months)
Assessment of oral function, latch, and milk transfer, alongside evaluation for tongue and lip tie by Dr Justin Roche. A feeding evaluation with our IBCLC precedes the medical assessment.
Child Feeding (6 Months–16 Years)
Evaluation of texture aversions, oral motor difficulties, slow weight gain, and challenges with the transition to solids. Our team assesses the full picture before recommending a pathway.
Oral Restriction Assessment
Dr Roche assesses for tongue tie, lip tie, and other oral restrictions contributing to feeding challenges, with a clear treatment plan where indicated.
Personalised Care Plan
Every family leaves with a tailored plan — whether that is treatment, therapeutic exercises, onward referral, or supported strategies to use at home.
Ireland's Only Multidisciplinary Feeding Team
NTTC brings together all the specialists needed to fully assess and manage feeding difficulties under one roof. Your appointment is tailored to involve the right combination of expertise for your child's needs.
Please bring your child due a feed, as the functional feeding evaluation is a core part of the assessment.
